Fall Workshops

If you missed my one day enamel workshop don't despair, I'm teaching another one in November. Here are the following offerings:

Felt and Metal Beads Workshop

In this class you will learn to create three-dimensional felt beads. We will use needle felting to blend and layer colored wool for painterly or geometric designs and then wet felt to firm the beads. Basic metal skills of punching circles, drilling, dapping, sawing and wire wrapping will enable you to make metal end caps to finish off your beads. You will complete several beads to incorporate into a necklace.

The BIG Press: Using the Hydraulic Press to Create Hollow Form Pendants
Learn to use the powerful twenty ton hydraulic press to effortlessly make raised three-dimensional forms with an acrylic die of your own design. Adding roller printed texture and pierced designs will also be covered. Simple soldering adds a back and voila you leave with a hollow form pendant.

Learn the ancient art of enameling glass on metal. This workshop will cover metal preparation, wet packing and dry sifting application methods. Decorative techniques using stencils and sgraffito will be covered. Use of holding agents and finishing will be the final steps. Complete two pairs of earrings and a pendant in this full day course. All materials included.
