These two brooch pieces were made in the Fall using steel under the plastic instead of my usual nickel silver. I was glad to give it a try, my propane/oxygen mini torch could manage the wire but anything bigger and well... time to learn how to weld! The "wood" in these pieces is in fact fossilized walrus tusk. Collectively they are Second Growth, as they appear to be springing forth from dead wood.
