During a day of volunteering in Staten Island with
Staten Island Recovers I found at my feet a small pile of debris. I picked them all up and the next day I looked at them and realized they bore a connection to Sandy and to all of our need to press forward for real change on global warming policy. Two election buttons one republican the other democratic, a broken earring, a broken pin and pin back, rusted from the water they belong together.
